Physics 2025 apreciation

This year in science/physics, learning about Earths four spheres the atmoshphere, hydrosphere, geosphere and biosphere. I found it very interesting on how each sphere is connected to one another and how what humans do can affect all of these parts of our planet. This made me think about ways we could help the planet.

Doing the balloon propulsion experiment was really fun. It helped me understand how action and reaction work when the balloon flies down the string. Hands-on experiments like this made science much easier to understand.

We also learned about different types of energy, like electricity, heat (thermal), and gravity. I liked making simple circuits in class and seeing how energy changes from one form to another. I found these all very useful espicaly electricty because I want to get a apprenticeship as a sparky.

Overall, I’m thankful for what I learned this year. Science classes made me curious and helped me see the world in new ways. I enjoyed working with my classmates and doing experiments together

The Copper Sulfate Experiment

While I was away my group had three iron nails and each of them had something different coating them. One of them had vassaline a protective coating and the last one had nothing.

We noticed that the liquid had changed from a bright blue to a dirty green. The nails that were sanded have corroted (rusted). Copper solid is in the solution.

How To Test For 3 Common Gases

  1. Hydrogen (H)- You put a splint near the top of the test tube containing the hydrogen. The hydrogen will react with the oxygen and explodes or it squeaks.
  2. Carbon Dioxide (CO2)-  Puts out (extinguishes) a burning splint.
  3. Oxygen (O2)- For Oxygen we combined Manganese dioxide + Hydrogen peroxide and we got a burning splint and blew it out and then we put the burnt splint back into the tube and it relit it self 5 times.
